Chinese Cross-Dresser Arrested for Secretly Filming Hookups with Over 1,000 Men

Nanjing, China — July 2025
A disturbing case has rocked Chinese social media after a 38-year-old man, surnamed Jiao, was arrested for allegedly disguising himself as a woman and secretly filming sexual encounters with over 1,000 men. Widely known online as “Red Uncle” or “Sister Hong”, Jiao used makeup, wigs, and women’s clothing to appear female while connecting with men through social media and dating apps.

Police in Nanjing, Jiangsu province, confirmed Jiao’s arrest on July 5, charging him with the illegal production and dissemination of obscene material, as well as violating privacy laws. Hidden cameras were reportedly found in his home, where many of the videos were recorded and later distributed in paid private chat groups.

While early internet rumors claimed the number of victims reached 1,600, authorities clarified that such figures remain unverified, but confirmed that the number exceeds 1,000 and investigations are still ongoing.

The case has drawn national attention, raising public health concerns and sparking discussions about digital safety, gender identity, and consent. Health officials have urged those who may have been involved to come forward for testing and counseling.

Despite the shocking nature of the case, LGBTQ+ advocates warn against using the scandal to stereotype or attack gender-nonconforming individuals. “This is about criminal deception, not identity,” said one human rights commenter online.

As the legal process unfolds, police continue to examine the full extent of the crimes, working to identify and reach out to victims. Jiao remains in police custody and is expected to face multiple charges under Chinese criminal law.
